John Holding, vice president, human resources, Nortel Asia

John Holding is the vice president for human resources of Nortel Asia. In his role, Holding is responsible for driving strategic human resource management and organisational development activities for Nortel across the Asia region.
He joined Nortel in 1999 in Australia and has progressed into roles such as human resources director for Australia New Zealand; HR director ASEAN & Pakistan and talent strategist Asia where he researched and implemented contemporary HR programs and practices in the Asia Region. Prior to his current appointment, in 2005, Holding lived in Korea and helped execute on the transition of the Korean Nortel business into a joint venture with LG undertaking due diligence, joint business planning and general organisational development work.
Holding is also a board member of Guangdong Nortel Telecommunications Equipment Co. Ltd, Nortel's largest joint venture in China.
He is based in Singapore and holds a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management from the University of Ballarat in Australia.
